Jack is Back!

Just wanted to welcome everyone back to MUST-SEE TV and one of the few shows historically worth time watching!

The BIG question on most people's minds is will they be able to revive/resurrect the show from the dismal ashes of Season 6?

I wasn't overly impressed with the 'Redemption' prequel. It begins with Jack working undercover for UNICEF and helping to dismantle an illegal rice smuggling ring in Africa. He be-friends a young orphan boy, and suddenly the production turned into a remake of "Shane."

There was nothing 'earth-shaking' in the two-hour premiere this past Sunday and Monday nights. If anyone thought that Tony had legitimately gone over to the Dark Side clearly doesn't know the show.

It was good to see Bill and Chloe (ya gotta love her comment to Jack!) Perhaps my favorite moment was the small talk between Tony and Jack as they're attempting to escape from FBI Headquarters.

Some things never change:

Someone within the Bureau is dirty (Gee, what a shock!) Any quesses on who the dirty culprit is?

A top member of the President's Cabinet is dirty (wow, really?)

At least Kim hasn't been kidnapped (yet!)

I didn't like the pre-qual either, but I assume that was the only way to start this season with Jack back in the states and not yet in jail for his actions.  I admit, a tiny part of me thought he was on the dark side, but the way he was talking when the planes did a near miss, I knew he was still good.

I just don't understand how Bill, Tony, and Chloe are doing this on their own with no one's direction.

I know, Donna...  and who's financing the 'off the grid' ex-CTU sting operation?

Rich - thanks for posting this.  I thought the premier was quite a bit better than redemption... I hate Jack in that stupid trench coat thingie - not at all like him.  The Senate hearings were over-acted, and the befreckled FBI chick annoys me so far... Just something about her that's not quite authentic:-(

Glad to see Tony, Bill and Cloe back, though. I just hope that don't go all PC on us in this season. Jack really needs to cross some serious lines and kick some ass.

Aw, come on - Kim has to get kidnapped this season.  It wouldn't be 24 without it!

Inna:    Such is the true essence of 24 - Jack Bauer kickin' butt without takin' names!

Please do not mention Kim.  Or Audrey for that matter.  I agree that the season premier(s) were not all that terrific, but they were still better than all of season six combined.  ha ha.

Jack dressed up as Columbo was pretty hilarious and very goofy.  I was glad when he ditched it.  My favorite moment from the premiers:

Jack, to Tony: "So help me God, I'll kill you and this time you'll STAY dead!"

I actually was hoping that Tony HAD gone over to the dark side.  He was pretty moody and crabby during his last appearances on the show; I was disappointed that it had such a predictable cliche "double agent" answer to it.  It would have been fun if Tony actually had become evil, fueled by his bitterness over the loss of Michelle.

I want creepy Logan to come back.  I both loathed and loved him.  I'm just hoping there won't be a return of Farmer Hoggett Jack's dad.

Guys:   I actually liked Jack's coat.    Not typical Jack,  true.   But it's in the trash now.    And Bill was looking a bit edgier.   I guess covert operations don't leave time to primp!   But he looked great.

Karen, I half wanted Tony to be on the Dark Side as well....:-) I'm sure we'll still be surprised this season. Definitely better than the last so far.

Bill coming back was a definite good thing.  I always liked him.

Hey guys...  I don't think we should give up on Tony just yet.  The Dark Side could still be beckoning him!

Agreed...we still don't know who is bankrolling this "off-site CTU" home office.... at least it's got me hooked on the storyline....

Loren - what would be funny would be if PRESIDENT LOGAN were doing the off-site CTU - or President Vader - er, that "evil president" from last year (forgot his real name...Noah?) That would be funny.  I never was convinced that he was truly bad.  I'd love to see him and slimy Tom Lennox at the helm...hee hee.  SO many great characters from previous seasons left dangling....
