Most Board of Realtors in each part of the state are losing membership as of the middle of Janurary.  How is your board doing membership wise?  We are in the Kerrville Board of Realtors (KBOR) in Kerr County.  As of our board letter today the board membership has lost 47 members.

I do not know what the membership loss will be by the end of this month but for this size of board I think this is a very large amount.  At this time this is about fifteen percent of last years member list.  There is always a loss in membership when the real estate business is in recession. However most of uis do not think that this slowdown is going to be for the long haul.

So how is your board membership holding up as far as member loss? When do you think the bottom will be or are we there now?

My Howdy

there Don, my friend

Is it because Realtors liven the business, why the membership is falling?

The Tacoma-Pierce County Association of Realtors is down about 10%. They are anticipating more fallout as agents fail to pay their dues.

Don,

I have not seen anything published for the DFW area; however I would think be the end of this month we should see how many did not pay their anual dues.

Dale,  Yes, there are a lot of agents choosing to drop out at least until the business comes back a little stronger.

Trey,  I am sure that our board will see some more fall out before the end of the month.

Richard,  I have seen amounts as high as a 30% fallout projected for the state of Texas.

Many will decide to move onto something else.....those who understand the business cycle will remain and endure.

Alan, Thanks for stopping by and thanks for you comments.

Dan,  Yes many will move on , we saw this in the 1980's and it did make the ones that love the business that much stronger.
