Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Destiny

After talking about it it finally was here, tonight was the night a few of us got together to talk about a book, teh theme was how We as agents can make the best out of our current market, based on the book SHIFT I did not read the book yet but I wanted to sit down and listen to more experienced agents and learn from them and to pick their brain on what they are doing now to face these challenging times, what I heard tonight was two things that all of us should be doing with our business.

The first was the need to get back to basics, to stay in contact with the A and B clients more often than ever before and to at least mail a letter or a phone call to your entire database at least once once every couple months, the way I see it is that my database should be contacted once a month via phone, some agent were talking how they would drop a little bag with some goodies and a line with reference with the goody they just dropped off, it sounds a little Corny but it works I have seen it happen before and people appreciate the fact their agent has taken the time to think of them.

The other thing that We talked about was the need for networking and how many ways we can get in contact with people one way or another using the Internet, some people were not too crazy about the idea to be in front of a computer getting personal and did not know how belonging to any of these groups would be beneficial to their Real Estate career.

There was an agent that was able to live through the market in the 80's and even though He thinks the 80's was bad and the interest rates were so high properties were still selling and prices did not drop the way we are seeing now.

He mentioned that it was the first time that property prices have gone down this much ever and it would be quite a while before homes can go back to the prices they used to be.

To the members of the Destiny book club, Thank you for sharing your knowledge with me and offer me hope for the year ahead and for telling me that after all is said and done only the strongest will survive.
