Day 29:  Steps in the right direction or just a DORK?

Kim and I put all the kids in strollers and started our daily walk.  After about 30 minutes we stopped to take a drink of water.  That's when I asked Kim, "How many steps do you think we have made?"  She looked at me with that look.  You know the look.  "You're a DORK!"

I thought that it would be cool to be able to measure how many steps I took and how far I had traveled with my new pedometer.  I thought that it would be a way of holding myself accountable for my physical activity.  I thought that I could make a competition out of it and challenge myself to beat my record from one day to the next.  I thought wrong.  I'm a dork.

Oh well.  This dork has managed to drop 10 lbs. from 223 to 213 in no more than 29 days.  I happen to like the pedometer.  I'm going to keep using it.  I wish someone would invent some sort of pedometer that could measure my proactive activities.  Now that would be cool.

I'm on my way to changing!  Are you?

That's great Paul! I too, am one of the millions who have decided to "get fit" in 2009. Of course I have made this resolution in years past as well. The difference is that this year, I decided to keep it to myself and make small changes every day towards my goals. I've been proud of my changes every day, and I feel better already!

Hey, Paul. I guess your $5 is paying off. I am also on my way to a slimmer me. I am down to 172 from 179 (my heaviest). Have a great weekend, Jim
