Who are you to believe? The media is all doom and gloom, telling us that the housing market is the worst in years. Many agents will tell anyone who asks that this is 'the perfect time to buy.' But in all reality, I think we, as agents need to be the voice of reason, helping buyers understand that this market does present an opportunity, but we also need to help buyers avoid some of the pitfalls that have led us to this point in time as well...If they are looking to be in this home they are interested in for only a year or two, due to personal or professional reasons, this may not be 'the perfect time to buy' for them. Every client is an individual, and we need to help each one see the benefits and drawbacks to this purchase--especially our first time home buyers who may need a little extra guidance.

I totally agree, if you are wanting to buy a home that you are planning to own for 10 years, it is a perfect time to buy, but this is certainly not the time to be buying to flip or to buy a home that is only for a short stay.
Good advice and if we don't educate the buyer, than who will, certainly not the media,
