I don't know where that is but it looks so peaceful and for some reason looks warmer than it is here today.  Thanks for sharing on this Wordless Wednesday!

I can just imagine sitting under those trees, staring at the water, listening to the quiet.  Great photo, Rich!

Hi Rich...Not my choice of a beach to sunbath on but love this spot anyway.

I really like the curve of the tree, the smoothness of the rocks and the difference between the light and the dark.

Very nice shot.

Beautiful and peaceful at the same time.  Quite possibly one of my favorites.

Zane - It is a beach at the base of one of the seven gulches on Kona, Hawaii.

Katharine - It was quite beautiful and serene.

Tony & Darcy - It is a black sand beach in Hawaii.

Jenn - It was about 75-80 degrees Fahrenheit.

Pat - Thanks, I thought it was a remarkable place.

Roy - Thanks for the compliment.

Carol - What you can't see is that there were surfers and families behind me on the beach and in the water.

Kate - Just out of site are some of the most beautiful, lava rock free sand beaches that you have ever seen.

Gayle - That it is!

Justin - Thanks so much! It was truly a remarkable place. In the photo I posted last week, this beach is just beyond the treeline and taken from atop the gulch.

Bo - Thanks! It is easy to photograph beautiful places.

Robert - It was something straight out of a fairy tale.

Mary - I think you have nailed the essence of the Wordless Wednesday group on the head!

I knew it was Hawaii, but then I knew you deserted all of us for a vacation. :->

That is beautiful!  It would be a lovely painting.  This is the second time in 24 hours that I am seeing a photo of a beach in Hawaii with trees that are not palm trees.  I just never even thought there were more than palms on the beach there.

Betina - Thanks a bunch. With a place that beautiful it is hard not to take a nice photo.

Debbie - It was quite beautiful.

Fred - Hahaha! It is hard to say no to family obligations, my brother's wedding, when it is in such a beautiful place.

Doreen - LOL! There were lots of different kinds of trees! In fact, it is my understanding that though the palms grow like crazy there now, they aren't native but were brought there hundreds of years ago (maybe more)!

Wow, how awesome is that! I have never been to Hawaii, but it is definitely on my list of places to see! Once I get rich, I just need to travel the world, my list is getting to be as big as a book with these worldless wednesdays!

Kayla - It was a beautiful place. This photo is from "the big island" Kona. I would definitely add it to my list of must see places. We went from this beach and 80 degrees to the observatories on Mauna Kea where it was 20 degrees and we had a snowball fight! Then there is the huge volcano...you can definitely see this is an island in geological transition.

Great shot! You can just see the mist coming off the side of the cliff there.  Awesome!

Kathy - Good eye! Off to the left just out of the camera's view where surfers. The whole thing taken together was really cool.
