Breaking News!

Google Video Player

From the Official Google Video Blog:

In a few months, we will discontinue support for uploads to Google Video. Don’t worry, we’re not removing any content hosted on Google Video — this just means you will no longer be able to upload new content to the service.

Important:  If you do have video up on Google – Not to worry, they’ll still be there. (I have 81).  They will not be accepting any new uploads.

I liked the Google platform for the simple reason it was NOT YouTube.

Yet, I have found other, better (much better) hosting sites for my video.

I have my favorites listed here  http://areweconnected.com/the-master-list/

What are some of yours?

Mike- I use Mixpo. That is the platform that AR uses for the AR video. I am looking into some others as well. Looking forward to seeing what others are using.

Never mind the bookmark...I went over there and copied the whole thing and saved to pc for future use.

That was great!

Mike - Thanks for share, this is a great resource.  I am trying to narrow down the listing of applications I will be using but will have to give many a try first.

Is that word press you used for the video?  I couldn't figure it out ... dense and not a techie... but trying

Katerina – Although I have never used it personally, I hear Mixpo is a great up product.  As a teacher I also like to use the products that the typical student will use. That more often than not will be “FREE"  ; )

FREE doesn’t always make it better (or equal).  Sometimes you just have to buck up and pay a few bucks.  Case in point, Real Estate Shows.

Sally – You mean my Master List?

Jennifer – Me too.  Narrow is definitely easier.

Joanne – The site is a WordPress platform, custom designed.  The video is always hosted somewhere else and then embedded into the post.

I've been using WellcomeMat.com as well as YouTube... I have used TubeMogul to upload.  There are SO many options.

I personally have found my limited dealings with Mixpo to be abysmal - and that's being kind.  I'm surprised they're in business.  Their support is non existent (literally), their product is way to complicated for me (and I upload video many times every day), so I can't imagine how most realtors fare with this company.  Even Active Rain is dumping them for the same reasons. They don't even support the Mac, which is ridiculous as most video is edited and produced on the Mac!  They don't support .mp4 formats, which is the standard!  It's crazy!

Stick with sites like WellcomeMat.  They cater to real estate.  They have as simple an interface as you can find.  They have great support.  And for basic users it's even free.

The concept behind Mixpo is great, but I find them nothing but an exercise in frustration.

I like Motionbox.  Your 51200 MB of storage for FREE with HD capability.  Limited ads too.  Just your video inventory and some Motionbox upgrade ads.  You won't scare off clients with other "Stuff".   Vimeo is also a good choice.  Greg Drejza - www.VTour4FREE.com

Gregory:  Just remember... VIMEO does not allow commercial/ advertising videos, such as a property tour.  They will terminate your account without notice and remove everything.

Technically, MotionBox also does not allow commercial videos.  I use MotionBox, but I am on their professional account (or something like that), which costs me about $160/ mo.

You have to carefully read the Terms of Service or you may be sorry.
