I used to be far too polite with telemarketers, now I am a lot more blunt.
Robert, me, too....but even though both my home and cell phone are on the National Do-Not-Call List, I still get them. Some telemarketers are rude and obnoxious, too. So it's a hoot when I see what others, like Tom Mabe, do.
unbelievable... great audio recording, I wish I was that inventive and that persistent to get rid of them... I love this guy...
I was polite for a while, now I just say "remove my number from your call sheet"
They say "OK" but I don't know what happens afterward...
Joanne...I'm not inventive either. If I'm not too busy, or don't need the phone right away, I just ask them to hold, then go on my business, work on the computer, talk to other folks in the office. Usually by the time I pick up my phone, the telemarketer has hung up.
Michael...I also say take my name off the list. Or say not interested, then click off. The shorter and fewer words, the better.

Sounds like the real estate products consumer has just about reached their limit. I know I have.
The purveyors of "I can get you on page one of Google" has just about run it's course. Now the telemarketers are becoming obnoxious. I don't know what they expect to accomplish, but they appear to be emboldened by the dearth of business and are just insulting those of us who don't want to buy.
For me, I now just place the telephone receiver on the floor for a while.
This guy is hilarious, he really has a blast with the telemarketers! I love the murder scene idea! I may use that the next time!
Do-Not-Call list doesn't seem to work anymore!
A local radio station does some skits on telemarketing calls. Its so funny. I will check this out as I actually try it sometimes.
Hi Pacita - I've listened to a few Tom Mabe videos and find them hilarious. I certainly wish I could find the gumption to do some of the things he does with telemarketers. lol
Brian --- yes, I noticed the surge in this phone calls. It used to be about mortgages. Now, it's placement on yahoo and google.
Lenn --- I've been politely telling them "Not interested. Thank you for calling. Now please remove me from your list." If I have time, I just tell them to please hold, and I go about my business, ignoring the phone.
Caren --- I'm not creative like Tom, and will never be able to pull that off.
Lauren --- youtube has so many of these clips. I love the one about the very angry grandma.
Jon --- yep, He's hilarious. Quite entertaining. He certainly feels our pain when telemarketers bombard us with calls.
