about all these vacant foreclosures in my neighborhood, aren't they
dropping home values around me?
If you live close to a vacant
foreclosure, first of all you may want to watch out for unusual
activity around the home. Call the Realtor listed on the sign,
call his office or just call
the police if you suspect
something is not right. Vacant homes are magnets to crime and unruled
teenagers doing thousands of dollars worth of damage to homes around
the nation.

Nice post Fernando! I agree that foreclosures and short sales often set new lows for neighborhoods. However, it really is out of our control. In my market, foreclosures account for approximately 33% of the sales closed the first 2 weeks of this year. This number will no doubt continue to grow and foreclosures and short sales will continue to be the some of the toughest competition for an average home seller. It's good to see that you took the time to learn more about these properties by obtaining the CDPE certification.
