In 2005, the City of North Las Vegas adopted a 20 year plan with a mission statement that states:

The mission of the City of North Las Vegas is to create and sustain "Your Community of Choice" for its residents, visitors, and businesses. The City is committed to being a balanced and well-planned community that provides quality municipal services, education, housing, recreation and leisure opportunities, economic vitality, security, public safety, strong community partnerships, civic pride for a culturally rich, active, and diverse population.

As part of this plan there are seven "Visual Elements" which North Las Vegas considers the core of this strategic vision:

  • Pivotal Centers for Development and Redevelopment
  • Economic Development
  • Community Services and Amenties
  • Safe and Livable Community
  • Community Spirit, Relations, and Pride
  • Fiscal Policies and Management

Currently, the City of North Las Vegas is seeking the input of its citizens.  A survey is available online which asks six questions regarding satisfaction with recent neighborhood improvements and development of the Office of Housing and Neighborhood Services.  Citizens are asked to rate not only the City of North Las Vegas, but also their neighborhood, street cleaning, code enforcement, and other issues that affect the quality of life of North Las Vegas residents.   You can view the plan here.
