A few days ago the local paper ran a news story about a soldier from Dyersburg who was killed in Afghanistan. Here is that complete article.

Today, his body was flown into the Dyersburg airport by the military. There was quite a ceremony at the airport for this fallen soldier and his family. Here is the story in today's state gazette. Please check back tomorrow and click on the paper link.

After the ceremony, the body was accompanied by state troopers, local police, 30-40 motorcycles(the guardians) and family members along a route of 10-12 miles to the funeral home.

As you can see from the pictures a lot of people turned out at my church(which was on the route) to show their respect to this fallen soldier and his family. I was so proud of all the patriots who turned out in 15 degree weather. Several ex-military including myself saluted this procession as it passed by.

Even the pundits cannot say we are in Afghanistan for no reason. These troops are trying to find Bin Laden(in case you have forgotten, who engineered the attack on the U.S. in 2001). This fallen soldier stepped on a land mine which took his life.

I am proud to be an American and I believe that patriotism will flourish in the yearsmy churchpatriotism to come here in America!
