After about a year of searching, I finally found my camera and I love it!  I have been searching for what felt like forever for a compact camera with a built in wide angle lens that was reasonably priced.

I had heard many people speak fondly of the Kodak with wide angle, but when I researched it further I found it had a plastic lens and that Kodak had an overall reputation of having lot of issues.  In fact, many of the local stores avoided or stopped selling Kodak all together because of too many customer complaints and returns.  This, despite recomendation, left me too timid about making an on-line purchase.

The camera I purchased is the Panasonic Lumix wide angle camera (has a glass lens).  I purchased it for $199 at Circuit City - click here for more info http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/shop/Cameras-Camcorders/Digital-Cameras/Lumix-Digital-Cameras/model.DMC-TZ4S_11002_7000000000000005702 (image below from panasonic website)

I was given a great opportunity to test out my new camera with two new listings I got this week www.5905Braelinn.com for some examples.

Good timing! I have been looking for either a photographer or inspiration to get a new camera. I have a Canon Sureshot but having a wide angle lens would sure be nice!

Thanks for sharing, Tessa

Christine and Jennifer thanks for posting this here and for the link.  I bet that part of the secret of the great photos is that Leica lens.  I recall, from my SLR cameras days, that the Leica lens was a top-of-the-line product.

In looking at the specific camera that you selected I noted that it has a 28mm lens which can qualify as wide-angle but I have a 28mm Canon and it's just not wide enough for my interior before and after shots for staging.  I'm looking for at least a 25mm and preferably a 22-24mm.  When I went to the Panasonic website that you sent me, I noted that they have a couple that may fit the bill.

BTW, nice crisp photos with good color.  Did you use a tripod?

Hi Ginger,

No we did not use a tripod, I just try to take my time in making sure the camera is steady.  The camera has really good anti-shake technology and being about 15 degrees outside when I took this pictures I was indeed doing quite a bit of shaking.

Christine and Jennifer, thanks for posting. My camera is showing signs of getting tired, and the 10X zoom really caught my attention. I will have to take a closer look at this camera to see if it will fit my needs of rough treatment I give cameras during inspections.

Thanks again

Just a quick update, I love this camera and the clarity and quality is amazing...I just wish I would have gone with the slightly higher priced camera with wider lens.
