OK can it get any colder than this in Northeast Ohio

By
Real Estate Agent with Howard Hanna - Avon Lake, OH 2006004434

OK, It has been in the single digits to 0 at night here for the last 3 days. Enough is enough.  Nothing like trying to post a company sign in this weather.  Wow. Local weather expert Dick Goddard has warned us weeks in advance that we were in for one of the coldest winters in decades.  Well its here and if you didn't get your firewood order in you better did an igloo in corner of the drive that peck drop off.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to bring up some warm weather. Here are the top ten list

10. Mobile Florida jet stream.. something... hurry. I am putting on another layer.

9. Get a pet.. they make a difference.

8. Exercise... hey you promised a few weeks ago.

7. Attend a Browns game.. Nope that wont work season was over weeks ago... that's whole other post.

6. Attend a Cavs game.  Now that will work. Best record in the league and there is no stopping them this time. Celtics are crying.

5. Consider a Florida trip for a few months.

4. Have Hula or Toga party.  What Stan are you nuts...

3. Cuddle with your significant other at a warm fire.. Now thats getting warmer.

2. Layers and warm drinks.

1. Sell Homes, Advertise a cozy, hot chocolate Open.. get moving and get those listings... Your getting cold typing posts. Get busy!

Struggling to search for Avon Lake, Avon, North Ridgeville, Sheffield Lake and Sheffield Village Homes?  Need some easier way to do it on the go?  Trulia
and Zillow are great programs however they are not local.  They are not current to activity at the minute and projections on values of homes are questionable based on global measures and not having local information as a local Realtor would.  So what to do? Add my search engine to your mobile devise or  computer and get direct and current home sales, open houses, know when a home is off the market and sold right away and find similar homes in the area.  The search engine has GPS function that you can activate on your phone  and with that it will give you comparables while you are in the driveway of that dream home.  Now how cool is that?

Try it.   http://stanleystepak.hanna2go.com

11. Find a hot tub to jump in- nothing like warming your sore bones after a round of snow blowing- bring some cocktails, maybe a good cigar & invite over your best friends to sit back & watch the snow fall!

Dear Stan,

I am in Virginia and we have even been given projections of temperatures at about 3! We think that is what we might make, if we sell a house! It is never that cold!

To take care of this--stay home, get under covers, snuggle with whomever. A nice dose of Grand Marnier might help!

Go to the Weather Channel's 10 day forecast - we are nearly going to hit the freezing mark in Ann Arbor Michigan.  Sadly, that did lift my spirits....  :)

Stanley:  I moved from Cleveland to Fort Worth 26 years ago.  My sister still lives there.  We spoke over the weekend, and she suggested I look at the videos on My Fox Cleveland.  I did... and there he was... video of one of my faves from Cleveland... Dick Goddard... actually doing the weather.  That guy is a real Cleveland Icon in my book.  Stay warm, guys... stay warm.

(Tongue in cheek) It is all a figment of your imagination. We are in the midst of a global warming crises, winters are a thing of the past, the sun will soon burn us up. Stop using so much gas, reduce or eliminate your carbon footprint. Go green.

Hi Stan - We live in NE Ohio  lol  I know, It's "God's" country but we haven't been given any favors as far as winter goes.  Dick's "Wooley Bear" must have had an extra thin coat this year.  Since you're in Westlake you also get some of the "lake affect."  I'm in Dick Goddard's home town (Green, Ohio) and even though I live in the south, it's still very cold here too.  I experienced "lake affect" winters when I lived in Conneaut, Ohio and we had some tough winters back then.  Best wishes and stay warm.

@ Jim:  If this cold is all a figment of my sister's imagination (she lives in Mentor)... I spoke with her yesterday... and her "figment" is frozen.  Ok, smarty, what does a nice Catholic girl in Mentor do with a frozen figment... ?   LOL  She remembers that in high school, the dear Catholic nuns told all the girls that if they even "touched" their figments... they'd all go to hell.  Please advise...
