GRAHAM, NORTH CAROLINA - ALAMANCE COUNTY SEAT - It's where life is good!

In the world of today it is much too easy to become consumed by the negative reporting that permeates the mainstream media.

The biggest problem with the very generalized reporting that comes to us each morning with the news shows, or every evening with our dinner, is that the world of real estate is described in extremely general terms.

“The housing market is down.”  “The economy is floundering.”  “The opportunity to purchase a home is lost in the financial mess on Wall Street.”

Well, in some areas that may be true.  Heck!  All of it may be true.

But not here!

Not in my little corner of the world.

Graham, North Carolina.  County seat of Alamance County.

As you can see from this little article detailing the report of an independent audit, Graham and Mebane are in sound financial condition.  And this is a stark contrast from what much of the mainstream media would have us believe.

Carol, I am ALWAYS so glad to hear good news...and thrilled that you shared it from Graham, North Carolina.  I know many places are not doing well and have to leave the news off these days but you're doing well and I'm so happy for you.

Carole - I am aware that there are some serious issues in our world today, but it's not fair for the media to paint all markets the same color.  This market is still strong, still growing and full of promise for a brighter future.  I just wish that, for once, the media would take time to visit a few small towns/cities and see for themselves the growth that's going on.  Thanks for your well wishes - that means a lot.

Real Estate is always local!  I'm thrilled to hear that the market is so much better where you are now.  Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog earlier.  Hope all is well.

Lola - Yes - real estate IS local, but the mainstream media tends to gloss right over that fact.  Instead they speak in generalities and that misleads the public.  The market is steady here, the buyers are active and inventory is moving.  What more could I ask for?

Steve - There are so many little areas down here that are in a reasonable commute to the larger cities that it's tough promoting them all.  LOL  And the new construction is amazing.  If you're ever out this way give me a buzz!  I'd love to take you on a tour!

Debe - I am so stinking tired of all the negativity.  We all know there are economic issues right now - many of them very serious.  But we don't need a steady diet of it on the news.  How the heck do they think we're ever going to develop a brighter attitude if we are getting beat up on a daily basis with the 'blues bat' of life?

Carol:  I just wanted to congratulate you for what I just heard you did for Graham, NC.  Before you got there... they were just a smidge short of being considered "financially sound."  But... the folks at Graham have confided in me that once word got out that you were now a resident... the whole attitude of the town changed, and they all now believe that with you as a resident, they have "turned the corner."  Wow... what an effect just one person can have.  Way to go, Carol.  Pretty soon... they'll be asking you to run for mayor... (if they have one... LOL)

Karen Anne - You are too funny!  I don't believe for one second that my residency in Graham has had an impact of measurable detail.  But that doesn't mean I won't be making my mark!  As for a run for Mayor?  No way!  I left all those political aspirations back in Toledo ... and I sleep better now!  When  you come visit you will see, first hand, what a wonderful area this is.

The combination of location, fresh air, wonderful people ... well, you couldn't ask for a better spot in life.
