I have lived 47 years without ever having an animal living in my home.  Never thought I wanted one until I met Emme!  She is a 2.5 lb Yorkie and has become a precious addition to our family.  Meet my first furbaby!  Emme celebrated her first birthday in December.  Yep you guessed it, we made it special for her with extra treats.  I have missed so much over the years, thank goodness I came to my senses.

Valerie, our first dog as a married couple was a Yorkie.  I would have another one in a minute.  They are so precious and so smart!  Yours is a real cutie.

How in the world can you have lived without pets? My pets are my friends who are always there for me. =) They make life more fulfilling. You have so much fun, and rewarding experiences ahead of you =^.^=

Oh my -- I can certainly see why you have the wonderful pet.  I have always had a pet -- dogs and cats -- they are the best!  Enjoy

Congratulations on adding a new member to the family.  There have only been a very few years of my life, mostly in college and law school, when I didn't have a pet, and I missed it.

Everyone:  Thank you so much for your supportive comments.  I have had pets, just not domesticated.  We had horses and outside dogs.  I grew up in a home that could take the white glove test and my Daddy thought an animal in the house would not keep the good housekeeping seal of approval.  I thought it was ridiculous when I was younger but I became a clean freak when I married and moved out.   It took me a long time but thank goodness I saw the light!  I am still a clean freak but it is easy with Emme.   She got me through the rough times this past year when I didn't feel like talking!     Thanks again for taking the time to post a comment!

Val, she looks like such a sweetheart!  My daughter's Yorkie is the first one in our family, and we love her to pieces!

Awww... Emme's name suits her so well. That sweet little face. Yorkie's are so expressive!

That sweet baby! Her hair was so long here. You must do a new blog post about her soon and show off her new shorter 'do! ;)
