The most recent temperature "dip" (overnight lows moved between 7-9 degrees and a current reading of 29 degrees) in Columbia SC have created a perfect environment for me to stay inside and update myself on ActiveRain happenings. After reading this morning's blog post by Travis Olson, I was inspired to package three blog posts for you that can be used in "Getting Your Mind Right" in 2009. Without the right mindset, this year could be even more tumultuous than 2008.

Part One - Passion & Persistence: When you watch the AFC & NFC Championship Games on tomorrow, you'll be watching real-life examples of qualities that will be needed to realize your 2009 goals.

Part 2 - Be Well....Be Thankful......Be Focused: A Birthday Wish for You from Me!

Part Three - Read These Books/Change Your Perspective!

In Big Dreams/Goals in 2009 - Why You Will Succeed...or Fail, Olson discusses several books that have changed his views on business. I'd like to share two that have had the same impact on my life.

Shift by Gary Keller and The Dip by Seth Godin

As the formula for Coca-Cola has been successful for decades, reading these books and absorbing the knowledge available to you in the ActiveRain community will prove to be just as enduring and vital to your real estate success.

Remember..........

"The only difference between now and a year from now is the people you met and the books you read."

Have A Great Weekend!

STAY WARM!

Really well said about books and people - this is so true.

If you mind and your sphere are not evolving, then you are doing something wrong. :)

This has been a GREAT unintentional series ;) You should join Gary Keller and the other KW International for the Family Reunion as a speaker. You are on a role with your messages and they have sure put things in perspective for me.

2009 is going to have is challenges, just like 2008, but if we don't prepare for them then we are no better off than we are right now. We need to get focused and move with resolve.

Thanks for sharing, Nicole Weidauer

David, I really enjoy your blog. I completely agree with where you're coming from. If we want to succeed we need to make changes to meet the challenges put before us. There is so much good and motivational information out there. I loved "Shift". You definitely have to change what your doing to stay ahead of this market. What used to work just isn't going to get it anymore. I am looking for to buying and reading "The Dip".
