After a fabulous day in San Antonio............visiting the Alamo...........and then River Walk.......Susie my Keller Williams friend from Salt Lake City and I headed back North to the little town of Gruene.................to meet Kristin and Sheila Moran!

Its been a wonderful opportunity to travel through Texas and meet some very special Active Rain people for the first time.........I am so thankful and feel so blessed to have been able to share some laughter and special moments ..........and it was a real joy meeting Kristin and Sheila!

First of all we went to this really cool Texmex or is it Mextex ? restaurant - and chatted like we'd known each other forever!........a few Yummy Sangria Margaritas...later..........and we headed off to the Gruene Hall..........for our first real take of Cowboy Land!

Greune Hall is definitely your 'cowboy' destination!   Gruene Hall, a bar and dance hall, was built in the 1880's and soon became the social center for the community.  It still stands at the end of Hunter Road and the intersection of Gruene Road.

It is oldest dance hall in Texas and many country-singing stars and legends have performed there over the years.  Willie Nelson, George Strait, Jerry Jeff Walker, Lyle Lovett are some of the well-known singers.  A complete list of the singers is displayed inside the hall.  Check out these floors - they bounce!

Love the flag - and think the story of the Six Flags of Texas is amazing!

This Sister Team is Hot Hot Hot! :-)

And a Snapshot for my Neverending search for the Perfect Cowboy......Boot! lol

I absolutely loved my time in San Antonio - but most of all I loved meeting Kristin and Sheila - thank you for being such great hosts.......your love of your town is obvious! :-)  Until we meet again!

Hi Liz, Looks like you had a great time! and you have a lot of good photos from your trip! Thanks for the post. I love to read about where people travel...and what they did!

Oh I saw Jerry Jeff Walker several times in the 70's but haven't been lucky enough to see the others... that floor looks like a Boot Scoot Boogie floor for sure!

Hi Darling! I'm so jealous of your adventures in Texas...meeting all my buddies. I wish I had been along for the ride. Oh well...I'm here in NC working my butt off day and night. If I did not know better, I'd think this was 2006 all over again as busy as things have been. Let's hope it continues.

I've just gotta include this in my week in review. ~GBU~
