I host a Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University class at my church.  In our small groups, I always hear great ideas.  One family made it the job of the kids to clip coupons for items they regularly shop for.  The parents reward the couponer 50% of the savings.  Its a great way to get the whole family involved.

Dinah,

Good tips.  I didn't know that the insurance would cover the sales tax.  Even they don't in my state I would ask for it.  Hope I don't need it though.

Thanks, Dinah, I will check it out!  How wonderful that you get your kids involved so they can learn about financial responsibility at an early age.  They will be fine citizens!

A great way to lower your electricity bill is to put a timer on the hot water heater and replace all regular light bulbs with flourescent (I don't know how to spell that) bulbs.

I love your idea about getting the kids involved!!!
