SPEECHLESS SUNDAY...WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?

By
Real Estate Agent with Johnson Real Estate, Inc. RES.0761759

As most of you know it has been extremely cold here in the northeast.  Yesterday I was out showing property and couldn't resist taking this photo.  What is wrong with this picture?

Jeff.. I'm hoping the seagulls are stuck.  I can't imagine that they would want to be sitting on the cold ice.

Mary.. The day I took this picture it was hovering around 3° degrees.  Why would birds want to be on ice/snow in that cold of temperature.

Jack... This is one area of topic you and I differ.  I *LOVE* the snow.  What I don't like is the *COLD* that goes along with it.  But since you can't have one without the other, I'll just have to suck it up. :)

Steve.. Yes, it is a little slow here at the beach.. you could say the water is a little "nippley" :)

Tom.. Care to elaborate?  Awesome how.. that there is snow?  That the seagulls aren't moving?  Are they stuck?

Susan.. You nailed it on the head.  That was my thought when I took this picture.. and why I asked "What is wrong with it"?  Why would birds want to be on the ice and snow in such old temps?

George.. What is wrong with these birds this year?  Why are cardinals around.. and why are these birds sitting/sleeping/stuck on this ice?

Robert.. That was *exactly* what I was thinking and why I took this picture.  Why are these seagulls sleeping on the cold ice/snow?  Even when a sound startled them.. they flew off.. but returned to the same spot.  Is this stupid or what?

Marlene.. Maybe they are waiting for the fish to come to the surface?  Either way, waiting for worms or the fish.. they have a long time to sit there for this to happen.

Richard.. You are so right.  I do carry my camera with me all the time.  Just sometimes the battery is dead.. being that it is so cold I guess.  Thank goodness it worked on this one.

Toula..The snow.. I think it should be there.. being January and all.  But you are right, why the birds are there, and sitting on the snow is what left me in a quandary.

Kristin... Lake Michigan?  I think you win on that topic.. It must be much colder there than here.  But tell me this, do you have dumb seagulls that sit in the ice cold snow?

Hi Valerie:

No-NO...not that it SHOULDN'T be there...yes, most likely, it will snow in CT in January.

It's just that, YUK, it snowed!!!  That's what I meant...

Toula.. Sorry I misunderstood.  Thank you for clarifying.  I personally like *every* aspect of having snow.. but one.  I can't stand the cold.  But you can't have everything.. right?

Tanya.. Thanks for the compliment on the picture.  To me it looks like the birds are frozen in place.

Valerie - If those are seagulls, then they must be lost...or stuck...or both.   :)

Debi.. Did you ever see the movie Fried Green Tomatoes?  In the movie they stood this joke where a pond froze real quick with the ducks still on the pond.  That when the birds flew away, they carried the pond with them.. and is now somewhere over Georgia. LOL.  When I saw these seagulls... that is what I thought of.

Debi.. When you have a chance I would recommend renting it.  If nothing else you will get a laugh when that joke is told...
