It certainly is time to celebrate! It was a very turbulent time -- and it is so incredible that the dream is starting to come true.
Turbulent time then and turbulent time now, though they be for different reasons. Yes the dream still lives on because as many strides that have been made, the last few months of 2008 revealed we have much further to go.
We can transcend to a greater level of unity, bipartisanship, and equality. So as long as people like you are around, we will continue to move closer to the fulfillment of Dr. King's dream!
Midori, I was surprised to find myself with tears in my eyes watching the innocents asking questions. He was indeed a good man. I am so happy that his dream lives on and was not snuffed out with his life.
I think we have a long way to go! Poverty...education...the betterment of mankind! The more I read..the more amazed I am that one mere mortal man...changed history...we can too!
I have seen a lot of history in my lifetime, Midori. But the experience of having been a part of the history represented by today with Dr King's birthday and being a part of the experience of seeing tomorrow with the inaugaration of President Obama is almost surreal. How far we have come in 40 years - but how far we have yet to go.
Dr. King lives on in so many areas of our lives. Thanks for sharing this. I have such high hopes and 'dreams' for our future. We're on the right track. It's a good thing...gonna be a tough row but, it's gonna be good!
