quite funny... I hope you are not standing out in the snow right now... few people will be driving around today, at least in our region...
Now, where is my orange vest???
Hmmm... Do you know a writer for the local paper? You might be able to get some press out of this situation.
It's bread and water for you....take your harmonica and brush up on your musical skills.
Richard - $200 for 2 days? That's a lot of cash. I bet the guy who tried to sell me a candy bar the other day didn't pay that much. He's need to sell a lot of candy bars to make the kind of cash needed for a permit (his candy bars were cheaper than the store). Do the guys that hawk papers need $200/2 day permits? I can't imagine that's true for them. Maybe they have a special permit thanks to the Express News.
Good luck! Make sure you hand out lots of business cards! Oh, and be sure to pick the busiest intersection in town to increase your ROI. ;-)
A new marketing tool. Dressed in Black and White stripes with the old ball and chain on your leg.
Keep being a REBEL.
I see these people solicting from the sidewalk, etc., all the time: Someone dressed in a mattress, holding a sign for a mattress store; some one dressed as the Statue of Liberty soliciting for a tax preparation company; someone dressed as Uncle Sam soliciting for a tax preparation company... and there are probably others that I can't think of.
There is just too much intervention in our lives now. There are speed traffic cameras in front of every school now in Bethesda, MD, fake police (inflatable dummies) sitting in police cars on trafficked roads, etc etc - (I sound like a 90 year old curmudgeon) - but there really is too much regulation and too little humor. Sorry that someone is making it difficult for you to be funny - and have a good time. Good luck!
Lise the fake police sitting in police cars caused more problems when they first came out. People would stop to make sure they were OK after traveling the same road over and over again.
Incredible, So do you think they would actualy arrest you and not the hundreds of real PANHANDLERS in our city every day and night of the week in our city? Sounds like discrimination to me! So what's the game plan now? Only time will tell, we'll stay tuned in right here!

Hi Richard, pretty silly considering all the street people in most areas. Oh well, I have confidence in you. I'm sure you will come up with something else equally clever!
Hi Richard, Wow, totally amazing. Who knows what is legal and what is now nowadays. Amazing. KM
WOW! I'd rethink it though since you already had one officer run you off.
Richard,
If you get thrown in the pokey maybe all the Activerain buds could each pick in a $1 to get you out.
