Granted this has nothing to do with real estate - but I just loved this. A friend sent it to me knowing I was down in the dumps. Not only is it a terrific "dog story" (which always gets me going) but its also a wonderful of example of how two very different creatures came to know and care for each other. Perhaps if we humans could do the same in spite of our differences, this world woud be a better place for it. If nothing else, its just a little something to make us all smile a bit more.

I saw this video on another AR member's blog. I'm glad that it is getting so much attention. These folks in TN take in abused elephants and provide for them for the rest of their lives with nothing but donations. I have long been a follower of this sanctuary and encourage everyone to make 2009 a year where you begin working for and donating to a worthy charity of your choice. -S

It's probably been maing the rounds.  I just got mine this morning and given the grim news that's all around - I thought everyone could do with a little POSITIVE NEWS - even if humans are not the source.

Stephanie , thanks for the heads up about this group.  I had not heard of them before, but they really seem to care about their charges. Elephants are very intelligent and amazing creatures.  They are known to have major attachments to their own and people....although this is the first I've seen where an elephant and dog are best friends.

Ruthmarie—What an inspiring story! Elephants and dogs happen to be two of my most favorite animals. We can all learn a vital lesson from this unusual friendship ;-)

Hi Linda,

I loved this story.  They are such different creatures - if you think about it, very unlikely companions.  I loved the fact that the elephant kept vigel over the dog.
