Hi Rich-I'm new to AR, only being here since 1/01/09 and I had accidentally deleted that starter kit so I want to thank you for this post because now I have that. AR is definitely an amazing community and I told Brad that I would be treating it just like school and learn different things at scheduled times. I just think all the AR community builders are awesome folks who are dedicated to making this the best place to learn and grow and also make life long relationships. Have a blessed and happy week. Sincerely Sharon Lee
Hi Rich - Just stopping in to say hello, wish you a great 2009 and happy to see you back posting lots of good information for Rainers - new and old!!! You're a sweetie :-)
Rich, thank you for continuing to help us. So often I will read a blog on how to do something and 80% is clear. But often the other 20% requires another search to understand what they're talking about. It's like learning a new language!
Rich
May you have a superb 2009. Bette White and Kittie Carlisle and Alan Ladd. That was a show. I might be off on the Kittie thing with "What's my line" but I do thank you for the memories. PBJ; I thought I was the only one that ate those like crazy

Just wanted to say hello and to thank you again for your time and help the other day. And thank you for ALL you do!
Rich,
You are fountain of information for all of us and yes, sometimes those of us who have been here for awhile forget what it's like to be a "newbie".
Rich, thanks once again for positive reinforcement of the AR world, I will share this with our newer members in our office. Everyday there is something new to learn.
Seems like there are tons of resources to choose from here for new members.
Rich, I have learned a ton of things by going to Brad's turorials. I can't always figure it out but it leads me in the right direction. If I still don't get it, I call one of you!
Gee Rich... I know that I get intimidated by technology. Seriously. Especially the stuff that can kill me. Luckily, my laptop can only drive me crazy.
We do need to help the newbies as much as possible. I wrote a post for them last week... *pats self on back* LOL.
I have to say, with anything to do with technology, it actually brings out my competitive side. It's like it's me against the computer or program. I WILL win! LOL. How pathetic is that? A determination sets in, that I WILL beat this machine!
OK. Leaving now that I've shown my true geekiness.
As much as 'social media' drives me nuts sometimes, this is a MUST as the Y generation is now starting to by homes, they LIVE on technolgically savy businesses / people.
My comment on this blog is, If you don't take the time to learn new techie stuff and at least pick a few social media sites to frequent, your competition will and you'll be an old school Realtor before you know it.

Hi Rich... Good post and very useful! I especially liked the Password analogy and that the pic you chose features Betty White, who, of course, is Allen Ludden's widow.
great info and thanks for the useful tip
This is good inf. The more I get into the rain, the more I realize what I don't know. I really wish that I could get more hi tech, but it all seems so beyond me. I'm doing my best and loving life, but I feel like the little engine that could. Not a lot of bells and whistles...jsut a lot of determination.
Rich, I'm sure that Joan is not the only one with this question, and answering it in your post makes it easy for everyone to learn from.
... I know that A|R will continue to stay current and on the cutting edge and I look forward to continuing to grow along with you !
Nicely put Rich :o)

Active Rain is a great place to be, however, being compulsive in nature (lol) I spent way too much time reading and commenting so I stopped. Well, I,m back and today I'm buying an egg-timer set at 30 minutes, then I just got to go! Will revisit the Starter Kit to refresh myself. There is soo much good stuff here, it's incredible.
Eva: You started my day off with a laugh! Egg timer...what a hoot!
