Search The Real Estate Web ™

During the weekend we released a fun and helpful service at http://search.realbird.com It is a search engine based on the Google Custom Search technology and indexes only real estate related websites. Compared to the regular Google Search, this service queries only verified real estate websites.

The search engine is configured in a way that it will return results from not only the 6 sites listed below but from all the linked sites on those, that is, your outside real estate websites, custom blogs, virtual tours etc.

Sample searches

Searching for a real estate professional: Mirela Monte or Bill Gassett or Janie Coffey

Searching for market data: San Diego market update

Searching for real estate terms: Real estate capital gain

Searching for industry news: IndyMac

You can grab the search engine widget here. In order to add it to you ActiveRain sidebar or an ActiveRain post, please use the iframe widget on this page.

How to see if your website and blog is included?

You can check if your real estate website or blog is included by using the regular Google site:domainname.com syntax. Do not add http:// in front.

For example see: site:www.sellmyhomeinmetrowestma.com

What to do if your website/blog is not yet included?

While the search engine is configured to pick up linked websites and blogs, it may miss some of them. In case the test described above does not return results from your website or blog, just add your domain name below as a comment and upon verification we'll include your site manually, ASAP.

Thanks Barbara. Here the result for searching for your name, content from your website, ActiveRain, Localism

Z it is strange how all the posts sent to localism are indexed as "welcome to localism".

Good catch Bill. It looks like all Localism pages have a <title>Welcome to Localism</title>

It's a SEO bug on AR's part. They should be able to easily fix it like they have it optimized on ActiveRain. Would jump Localism ranking big time.

It's very barebone, more of a widget then an app at this point (search form which then breaks out from the Facebook canvas) but more is coming along this line.

Bill - It's there but only with 3 pages. I am not sure why. This index is seperate from Google's main index with seperate indexing schedule. See: site:massrealestatevoice.com
