Why should you use a Realtor® when selling or buying a home?

Why should you use a Realtor® when selling or buying a home?

There are endless reasons why using a Realtor® is a wise decision.

Think you can sell your house on your own? Perhaps you could, but selling a home is a complicated transaction. Consider the following reasons you might want to consider seeking a Realtor's assistance.

1. I don't have time to make appointments during the day or during normal business hours.

2. I have no way of knowing if potential buyers qualify for my home.

3. I am not aware of the legal documentation that should accompany a contract.

4. How do I pick a Title Company, and who pays their fees?

5. What if the Buyer backs out of the contract?

6. Can I sell my home for market price without using a Realtor®?

7. What coverage do I have if the Buyer sues me a year after closing?

8. Is it worth having a home inspected before putting it on the market?

9. Who does the home warranty really protect?

10. Will I really be saving money (the real estate commission) if I try to sell myself?

Clearly, selling your home yourself isn't an easy undertaking.

A Realtor® provides the following:

  • Walking through the process of selling your home from beginning to end
  • Providing comparable information about the prices for which other properties have sold and analyzing data for you to gain a true comparison
  • Supplying information regarding local customs and regulations you may want to consider
  • Sharing information about your home through the Multiple Listing Service and on the Internet
  • Placing advertisements for your home
  • Fielding phone calls
  • "Qualifying" potential buyers to make sure they would be financially able to buy your property
  • Negotiating the sales contract
  • Alerting you to potential risks
  • Complying with the disclosures required by law
  • Providing you with an estimate of the closing costs you will incur
  • Helping you prepare for a smooth closing of the transaction.

The costs associated with hiring a Realtor® are worth it!

Very good info. The fee for service company here could learn a few things from you about why people hire us in the first palce.
