Note: If you have already received your Raining Points t-shirt, please take a picture of yourself wearing it or holding it, blog it on Active Rain and send me the link - rudy at trulia dot com
Update: Thanks to the sugegstion of Lisa Hill and other AR members, here is some more detail of some of the benefits of being a Trulia Pro:
As a Trulia Pro, if you have listings, we will feature all of them [unlimited featured listings] in the search results on Trulia. This will give you approximately 4 times the amount of traffic to your listings [great selling point in a listing presentation]. You get to create a custom spotlight Ad [like a billboard ad on a highway] and place it in 20 locations based on the specific geography you choose like city and state, zip code or neighborhood. Then you get a stats package that will track the impressions you get for your ad in each of the locations. You can get as creative as you like with the ad - showcase your listing, yourself [great for buyers agents to stand out in the search results pages], your business, your neighborhood etc.....Each Trulia Pro can send their clients a peronalized listing report for their listing showing how many clicks and views it has had on Trulia during the week and overall [another great tool to use during a listing presentation]. Finally, as a Trulia Pro, if you have listings on Trulia, now you can select the destination URL of where we point consumers to - e.g. your listing on your broker site, your blog site, your personal website etc.... So if we receive your listing from multiple sources, now you choose and have control where the consumer will be directed.
Rudy... I need to read your last post... question, what was mentioned above, can it benefit loan officers? yes, shoot me... I am behind the times on this one... maybe if you guys were on the east coast, or those of you on the west coast didn't hoard around each other and leave the rest of us out of blogging, online networking, etc etc... lol Besides, I want to be an expert voice on Trulia... not just a number. ;o)
On another note... sorry that I didn't get to spend much time with you when in NYC... but it was good to see you again..
I wrote a post about the Trulia program last week. From the comments I got, most people don't have enough information to make a decision about the Trulia offer, or they just aren't willing to spend the money, even with the discount.
I am a fan of Trulia voices though. I'm sporadic with it, but I do enjoy answering whatever questions I can.
@Sabrina - I added some more details in the update above. My fault for not originally including this information
@Rebecca - That's fine. Go for it!
@Cindy - OK
@Jeff - Great seeing you again in NYC too! Please stop by our NYC office anytime. Trulia pro can work for you too and any other real estate related professional or local business includings attorneys, home stagers, contractors, the Pizza shop areound the corner, the dry cleaner etc.... - Use the spotlight ad to showcase yourself and your business in up to 20 geographic location on Trulia and track the results.
@Excellent Anthony!
@Lisa - Thanks for a great post. I left a comment there and used a portion of it to update this post
@Ok Tim....
@Casey - Ha! Not enough :) But if you want a custom hat like that I can connect you with the artist who created it....Lemme know..
@Christopher and Stephanie - I may have a few more arriving soon :) Go for it!
@Elizabeth - Fashionably late :) Here is a link to our about us page - http://www.trulia.com/about/ But in a nutshell, Trulia a a real estate site where as an agent, you can market all of your clients listings for free in front of a targetd consumer audience - for free. We have a thriving real estate community as well where buyers and sellers ask agents questions - many are making connections and closing deals. It's a good place to network, make conenctions, market your clients listings, yourself and your business.
I really got a kick out of the concept of redeeming the points, but the only problem with the program is the need to enter one's credit card information just to even try the free month. I simply am not interested in doing that! A free month should be just that - A FREE MONTH - without strings! I am quite capable of deciding if I would want to continue the service and at that point enter my credit card information after the free trial period. I am quite sure that I am not the only agent out there that feels this way. Something to think about............
I love this offer, but I'm still on that fence. Argh. Especially now that Realtor.com has a whole new offering package. It is hard to decide when and where to spend those precious bucks! I think I am going to sign up for the 30-day trial on Trulia.
Hey Rudy! Sorry if I missed your response to my question on your previous post, so I'll ask it again...
Are current Trulia Pro members eligible to redeem AR points? Meaning if you are currently "month to month" with Trulia Pro, can you upgrade to an annual term and utilize your AR points like everyone else?
Well, I signed up for the $$$ off, and then looked at Trulia Pro. Seems like a good thing,but in this economy it's just another $39/ month that might or might not pay off.
Thanks, we will try the free month - we have over 30 listings and are never able to capture/claim them on your site by address very well as your search box doesn't locate them - perhaps there is another way? than to spend lots of time looking through 5 counties of listings :)
Wow... stopped in my tracks... I am on a scavenger hunt... with a shiny new ActiveRain signature (temporary with $ and calls to action Find Homes, Buy Today! ) and I am amazed that the comment I am stalking here actually looks like a comment, blends in to the landscape better.
I did not trade in my points for Trulia Pro for a free month. Or a reduction in the fee.
I watched Francis plug for Trulia Pro yesterday... two months free trial. It is hard to resist when it is my Fairy Blogmother and Rudy pushing it.
Noticed some stuff about Trulia being hacked and losing ground on Google... which is totally unrelated to why I have not embraced Trulia Proship.

It would seem that I need to go and do some more exploring on Trulia.
