The words you use are important!

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Rent To Own Homes, LLC

The words you use are not only reflect on you but can have an incredible power with others.  When you speak with unblemished words you use words that are correct and that improve or uplift other peoples value and worth.

As you get better at using unblemished words your relationships and deals will improve.  If you come across as inclusive when speaking with others versus individualistic you will be much more successful.  Words of compassion are much stronger than words of rejection.  Words of acceptance are much stronger than words of repudiation.

So it is important to read lots, study vocabulary but more importantly utilize words to uplift people rather than exclude them!  Until next time...

Pete,

Greaat insight!  In my business, I have to exceptionally careful of not just the language I use but that I display.  My clients are constantly taking cues from me and, to do my job well in providing unbiased information, I have to watch language, tone and movement to convey fairly what my findings are.

In the sales process that most agents are involved, I would think that it goes to the next level.

Thanks,

Paul

"out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh"

Hey -- I dont care to listen to someone who is "practiced in word wizardry" and as such is able to mask whats inside the man.

I agree. The way you speak leaves a lasting impression.

I was brought up being corrected if I spoke improperly. We didn't dare use the word 'ain't' or say 'good' when 'well' should be used. It used to annoy me to no end. I even found myself correcting my friend's grammar. The good news however, is that when you speak properly, whether you have an extensive vocabulary or not, you sound more more intelligent. I have friends that have their masters degree and still say ain't and use double negatives.

As far as affecting others, the fastest way to impress and influence people is by spreading a kind word about another. Think about it, if a person is bad mouthing someone else behind their back, what makes you so sure they're not going to be talking about you next. On the other hand, how much respect do you have for someone that compliments someone else?

Then of course there's that old saying, "It is better to keep your mouth closed and let them think you're a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt."

That's a good post.  You should always be careful of the way you are saying things.

We cannot ever take our words back.  If we all used words of value and meaning always the world would be a  better place.
