Do you see any problems with the shower below? No, I'm not talking about the paint and decorative scheme.  Yes, a shower is supposed to get wet (obviously) as the title of this blog reads, but there is an issue...

The upper walls are not water proof. By Pillar To Post a Rancho Cucamonga home inspection company.

The shower head is too high for the shower enclosure.  The yellow wall is not water proof and if the water from the shower head continually hits that yellow portion of the wall, water damages and possible termites and mold could occur.  So what appears to be a "funny" mistake could actually turn in to a very serious situation.

I hope this gives you a little more information about a home inspection and its value.  Be safe out there.

Joseph, great find.  This is a problem that can lead to major problems down the road including but not limited to mold.  That is why it is always a good idea to hire a pro such as yourself to inspect the home prior to purchasing it.

Margaret, you're too kind.  Business has really picked up and I was busy training an employee, which took quite a bit of time.  But I'm back and plan on blogging a couple of times a week from now on.  Have a great day.

Looks like most shower installations I have seen and most seem to have a problem.

Joe, good post. Unfortunatley that is something we see all too often. It doesn't seem like a huge issue at first to most buyers, until they realize what could, and most likely will, happen due to moisture.

Hey Joe,

Great information!  We do see a lot of these problems and sometimes what we will do is go in and add a few more rows of tile for the home owner.  We don't do much installation -- just the cleaning, sealing and repairs.

That is a GREAT find! Thanks for sharing the information!
