There are so many items that are looked at when Pillar To Post performs a home inspection. Some are major and some are informational or suggestions.  We don't expect that everything on our home inspection will be taken care of immediately, but we want to provide a list that one can go through and hopefully complete to get their house in tip-top shape.

See any problems in the picture below?

The closet door can hit the light on the ceiling. By Pillar To Post a Rancho Cucamonga home inspction company.

The angle of the picture isn't the greatest so it might not be as easy to see.  I was trying to show that the hallway closet door will hot the light fixture when fully opened.  Of course if the door is opened hard enough, it might break the glass on the fixture or break the screw that secures it and the glass might fall below.  Either way, it's a safety issue that most people probably wouldn't think about... until it's too late.

I hope this gives you a little more information about a home inspection and its value.  Be safe out there.

So, what will be suggested here?  Do they have to move the light fixture?  In our area, you cannot have a bare bulb in a closet - it must have a fixture.

Just another construction "faux paux".  Just because you own a tape measure doesn't mean you actually know how to use it, right?

I would just cut a notch in the door but that is just me.  I am sure not the best solution.

Debbie, the easiest would probably be to replace the light fixture with one that isn't so large.

Kevin, that is funny, thanks for stopping by.

Gene, that would work as long as you're okay with the results.  Enjoy the rest of the day.

How about changing the door around so it swings in the opposite direction.

David, that certainly might work depending on the orientation of all the closets.
