Are you in business by yourself or for yourself?

Real Estate is about partnerships with buyers, sellers, other agents, inspectors, appraisers, mortgage brokers, title offers, and the many others that we encounter during a transaction.

So, if you want to succeed in this business for yourself, great. But remember you can't do it by yourself.

I would like to thank one of my past principle brokers for this advice, because it really did change how I looked at my business.

That is excellent advice Todd. Too often we deal with people that think this is an adversarial process instead of a symbiotic one.

Hi Todd,

Your advice is good advice.  I worked in a team environment for 35 years before my current career in real estate so it comes natural to me and has helped my business immensely.  But many that I observe don't think that way at all.

I saw your full background in the instant before your post loaded.  Wow, what a great waterfall and it looks similar to Kauai's Wailua Falls (from "da plane, da plane" TV fame).  I've been to Washington state but didn't see scenes like THAT!  Very pretty.

Aloha,  Richard

Great reminder to us all Todd. Connecting with other people, learning how valuable they can be and how much they can help you is key in any industry.

Its a people to people business.  Definitely a good thought here!!  I just heard of a broker who does all his meetings by webinar.  I also heard he was losing half his office.  Is there a connection?

Todd,

This is some very good advice.  I have never quite heard it put this way but it sure makes a lot of sense.

You are right - even those that we may not be as warm with have something to offer in the business. Everyone is unique.

This is such a great post Todd! It is so important to work together - and although we all may catch the "if you want something done right, you better do it yourself" bug from time to time, this is a great reminder as to how important it is we work with each other. There's no i in team!! ;)
