It has come to my attention that my blog has paid closer attention to my older, married-daughter, than to my younger daughter.  How, you may ask, did this come to my attention?

Well, my younger daughter (Let's call her Liz) invited my wife (let's call her Amy, 'cause that's her name) and I, along with my older daughter and her new husband (let's call them Sarah and Chris) over to her new apartment for dinner.  It was her first formal dinner at the new place, and she wanted to have us all over.  She served a wonderful "beef bourguignon", but substituted Portabello mushrooms for the beef.  It was spicy, and wonderful.  It was accompanied by a lovely Shiraz (and Organic Beer, for me).  A good time was had by all... she did a wonderful job.  But I digress.

After the meal, we were sitting around her new apartment, in the Andersonville neighborhood of Chicago, and chatting.  ELIZABETH commented that she really thought my post about the furniture company that was "selling Senate seats" was really, really funny.  So I said, "oh, you read my blog?"

"Yes," she replied "I read it every day".  Amy and Liz echoed, "We read it too!".  Turns out that my beautiful wife (hi honey!) reads it daily, and Liz reads it occassionally... but when she does, she reads through all the posts she's missed to catch up.

So, Liz then follows up with "yeah, I read it... and you talk about Sarah more than me".  I replied that "I have posted about you, Liz"... but she says, "you write about Sarah more... you know... "the trip to Thailand" (T1, T2, T3, T4, T5), and you blogged about the wedding." Even the son-in-law (Chris) chimes in to say, "yeah, and you mentioned ME in one of the posts when you said:

"I won't be able to breathe until she returns safe and sound... and it wouldn't hurt if she brought "ole what's his name" home safe too."  (in my defense, I actually said "her new hubby").  But, hmmm...

So... in an effort to be more "equitable"... I went through my posts and found that I have mentioned Sarah in 9 posts (at least a casual mention or more), I have mentioned Liz (by name) in 6 posts (oh, yes, I did... I went and counted)... and have mentioned Amy (my gorgeous and lovely wife) either by name, or as "my wife" in more posts than I have fingers.  (Oh, and Gus the doggie has been mentioned in 3).

So... Lizzie... this post's for you!  Not sure you're going to enjoy the spotlight... but hey, here it is!

(modified 1/23... with a correction: Elizabeth commented on my post about the Senate Seat... NOT Sarah!)

Hi Alan...seems Liz thinks you are partial to Sarah in your posts, looks like your equal now. Why don't you write an entire post with Liz's name in it :D.  I have a friend who's dad always tells her when they are alone "you know your my favorite, right?  Don't tell your sister!" and he does the same with her sister.  Makes me laugh every time I think of it.  Heck, i'm impressed with two grown daughters that you blog, my dad has 3 girls but he thinks a blog is actually called a "blob".  KM

Liz - Since Pappa May has forgotten you in his posts, I would like to say a hello from his blog.  It doesn't count as much as a mention in his blog, but at least its your name in the comments section!  PS  You're Dad is a funny man...I enjoy reading his blog too.

Alan - Organic beer?  Sounds fancy.  Can't say I've ever had any that was organic.  How was it?

Kristin... I'm not sure that she would agree, we're "equal" yet... yes, I've been told by one of my "other" daughter's friends... "you know how to TEXT Mr. May??? Good for YOU, Mr, May... Good for YOU!!!  (you know.. .the same tone you use for a 3 year old when they manage to use the potty!!  Yeesh!)

Barbara... no argument from me... especially with a Herman's Hermits reference  ... nice!

Matt - Organic beer - the jury is still out.

This reminds me of a song by Herman's Hermits! "MRS. BROWN YOU'VE GOT A LOVELY DAUGHTER"

You managed to write another great read, I know more about your family!

S.T.F.D., nah, she won't murder me... that'd be like killing the goose that lays the golden eggs.

Caren, Peter Noone couldn't have said it better.

thanks for the so-called equal time, pops!  in true form, you quoted SARAH as mentioning the ad from the furniture store, when in reality, i was the one that made that comment.  typical.

I dont have this issue, at least not yet.  I think I have posted about both of them, but not just one.  Although I do plan on doing a post about the Daddy/daughter dance which means I'll have to talk about my son at some point.  I dont think they would notice, but just in case.

I also read your blog occastionally -- last time on January 7 -- and I also read all the posts that I haven't seen to catch up, so I'm right there with Liz. Well, maybe not right there. I haven't seen you blog about me yet, so Liz, Amy, and Sarah all get more time here than me -- LOL :( .
