Is It Time You Ran Away?

Running AwayIn life and real estate careers in particular these days situations can get stressful enough that you probably think

Is It Time You Ran Away?

Now let me clarify, running away is different from getting away. Vacations and pauses are refreshing. Running away indicates a whole new direction. It's ok if that is what you commit to and decide to do. But don't run away from problems simply to escape. These birds urban legend has it like their heads in the sand too. Problems need to be addressed straight on with solutions, THEN you can move on.

Unless you just like running down the road screaming to just get that feeling out of your system.

Don't worry, problems seldom last forever. Screaming is ok. Permitted too is SOLVING our problems. You probably have a much bigger brain to work with also than these guys.

Gary,

I like the solving the problem aspect of the post better.  Although, when I was in my other life as a Food Service Manager I would go into the walk-in freezer, so nobody could hear me, and scream to get a bad day out of the way or to just cool off.

Hi Gary:

I'm definitely not one to run away from problems...I hit them, straight on.

But I really do need to get away however!  Maybe soon....

Gary - problems, like bears, will usually catch up with you if you are running away. And although with a bear, you just have to be faster than the slowest person with you, the problems are yours and somehow track you down.

Gary,

I also do not run away from problems and meet them head on. We always plan a special trip each year as we love to travel. It's a goal that when things get stressful I think "that's okay" I'll deal with this issue and I can relax and have a wonderful travel experience later in the year. I like having something I'm working toward that I know will be fun and exciting. All problems will be worth dealing with then!

Hi Gary, I'm sensing that you may be feeling a bit of stress in your life, am I right? There are days, albeit few, that I feel I am surrounded by morons and lunatics, which drives me crazy. When that happens, I click on LOL cats, and my attitude is refreshed.

I never see a time when I will think it's a good idea to run away. It's just not my nature.

I love the picture Gary, it is tempting right now to think of running away... if only as a dream.....

My wife and I often joke about running away at about 7:00 PM every night when we are doing bath time with our three ankle biters under 3.5 years of age.

That being said, running away never solves any problems. :)

Every where you go, there you are.

Gary:  It really does no good to ignore our problems.  By doing that, we usually create a larger, or even more, problems.

Gary,

To many of us in the real estate and mortgage and related businesses running away has probably crossed the mind during the last year or two. But often new energy is discovered to fight another battle and find solutions.

Gary - I wanted to run away in October. I wanted to get out of the business. And, then I re-evaluated things and realized there were problems that needed fixing and what I really needed was a change. So, I affiliated myself with another firm. I have no regrets. Things are going great. Had I ran away and dropped out of the business I'm not sure I would have been as happy.

Gary - You can run away but your problems will follow you. So, it is best to stay and deal with them.

Great photo, at least they are running away together!  Thanks for the permission to run away after you have dealt with the sore spots, that makes a lot of sense.
