Nice picture.  The water looks very cold.  Do people swim in it when it gets warmer?

Leolinda,

Yes, on this particular day, yesterday,January 20th, it was very cold.  We have been having frigid temps here in the Midwest.

In the summer, many people can be found swimming in the river.  It is clean and nice for float trips.

Thank you for stopping by,

Ann

Hi Ann, I'll bet this river is especially beautiful when the trees are leafed out! Looks like a great place for summer fun!

Ann it is always nice to see pictures of other parts of the country at this time of the year.

Nice to see there are still places to spend a summer afternoon just lazily floating down the river and taking in nature. Thanks for sharing the pics!

George,

Thank you..  I like seeing other parts of the country too.  I cross this bridge quite often and always want to pause to look at what is going on in the river below..

does that one ever freeze over? or does it run too fast to get that solid.

Hey Debi,

It is a fun place...and the fishing is pretty good too.  I will have to see if I have photos from the summer.

Thanks for stopping by,

Ann

Robert,

I have seen it completely frozen.  The weather has to stay cold for a long time.  I mean really cold.  It does not happen every year.   It looks pretty cool when the ice floats down the river.

Ann,

Beatiful pictures, Meramec River?

We have some great scenery in the St Louis metro area. Thank you for stress relief, now I can think of this instead of chaos.

Ann,

I'm glad you decided to use two pictures to show both sides of the bridge. I wondered how you were going to do that in the same picture. :)

Toula,

This would be the bridge I was very afraid of when I was little.  It was old then...LOL

Steve,

Well you never know about me...  I might have climbed to the top of the cliff and taken a shot from there...;-)

Pretty shots, Ann.  It doesn't look like the same water, funny how the sunlight makes it different colors.  I see snow on the banks.... brrrr.

April,

I agree.  It looks like a different river...  Both were taken on the same COLD day.  We had been having temps in the 5 to 10 degree range.  What you see on the banks is actually ice.

COLD!!
