A brief history of the recently renovated, old historic downtown building:

Built in 1895, Once was the L&N Train lines,  a Pharmacy, a Doctor's Office, an
Attorney's Office, a Bank and a telephone company.  The 3rd floor was removed in the 1950s due to structural defects.  Now, the top floor has a wonderful deck and lounge area with a view of downtown Blue Ridge overlooking the park and Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad

Jancie:  Thank you, I am very excited about this new move.  Wishing you a great 2009!

Cynthia:  The picture is the real me so I laugh and say, "what you see is what you get"!  Thanks for the compliment though, you are kind.  Wishing you the very, very best also in 2009!

Hi Karen:  I'm a little slow this morning, must be the cold but not getting your question about "a lot of changes".  Don't see it, what am I missing?  Right now, all I can think about is how cold  my toes are.  :-)  LOL

Carole:  The building is really nice inside and I love that it is so old - 1895 !  Imagine.  A lot of history in old downtown Blue Ridge and it's fun to be in the heart of it.  Lots of energy which I know is very important.   Thanks for your comment.  Wishing you a fantastic year too!

Congratulations on your move, Donna!  I wish you nothing but great success with your new company.  CB High Country is a wonderful brokerage. If I ever left here, that's probably where I'd go.

Best of everything to you!

Keith:  I hope you do.  The office is beautiful and the owner/broker has done a phenomenal job with the remodeling of an old historic building.  It will be great to meet you and Robin.

Karen:  I can't remember 5 minutes ago, let alone anything I may have written in a comment :-)  But, suffice it to say 2008 was a year that presented a lot of personal challenges and I for one, am glad to see 2009.  I do not know how you deal with cold and the snow up your way.  We get two maybe three snows a winter and that's more than enough for me.  I imagine those beautiful beaches make up for quite a lot.

Kim:  I love it!!!  The best move I could have made and should have made a long time ago.  Thanks.

Kim:  No, the move didn't stop me blogging, I fell behind way before I moved.  I am busy though since I've moved and still trying to figure out how to get the time needed to stay up with Active Rain.  It's changed so fast in so many ways that I am way behind.  Just not enough time in the day and night for that matter.  See you in the rain soon, I hope.

Terry:  This is a very unique building and the history is just great.  I love the rooftop because there's an open deck overlooking the downtown railroad and shops.  I didn't realize how much fun I would have being in the heart of downtown Blue Ridge.  My best to you too in 2009!

How did I miss this move?  Congratulations!  I love you new business photo and your new office, and look forward to visiting the North Georgia Mountains in Spring.  You've inspired us to check it out.  'Just wish they had some nice retirement communities.

Margaret:  How wonderful that you are coming for a visit!  I really hope I get a chance to meet you if you are in my area.  I wish they had some nice retirement communities too.  Maybe in time but I do feel we have lagged behind.  The north eastern side like Clayton, Dillard, Tiger and Clarkesville have a few more of those communities than my part of the mountains.  Clarkesville is known for its retirees.
