It's easy to get caught up in the words of the news media...
the cold hard facts of what's going on in the financial world.
My hubby likes us to watch updates daily of what's going on in the "industry" and though it's good to know what's going on... it's also hard to stay positive.
For a buyer the reports can come across confusing.
Reports coming thru daily of this bank or that bank failing,
lending institutions tightening up their loan givings,
credit being very carefully given.
TO A BUYER I would say:
Now is the time to buy!
It is STILL possible to get a home loan with a very GOOD interest rate,
and it is possible to find homes with great prices causing the mortgage payment to be quite low.
It IS possible. Please don't give up before you try.
To the seller it can be quite devastating.
Prices dropping almost daily making it increasingly hard to find the right price to place on a home.
Rumors and truth of homes sitting on the market for months with no seeming need.
Great houses being sold for much less than their original worth.
It appears almost hopeless.
To the seller I would say:
Selling is possible! Let's take a good look at where you need to be and see how we can make the balance.
Let's look at the possibilities and then see what we need to do.
It is true that the housing industry has been hit really hard.
It is true that it has caused a ripple affect in all industries.
But, the truth is, housing is still housing.
We must still live and breathe and exist.
Now is NOT the time to let the reports drag us under,
But to live by FAITH knowing that as any industry we will survive.
Not only will we survive, but we will thrive.
We will continue to work hard and earn our livings
as agents who can professionally help and guide buyers through the highs and lows.
Now is when being a real estate agent is a good thing.
We are there to be the experts and know just how to help each housing need individually.
If you are looking for professional real estate services I am only a ring away! I am looking forward to working with you.

You are right Lindsey. IT can be difficult; but we need to re-educate home buyers. Buying a home is NOT a short-term investment. While it IS possible to make money on a home short-term; a home is someplace you live in for several years; then when you sell; you have a little money to take to the next place.
Buyers today think if they are not making 10% equity a year; its a bad thing.
