San Diego County has long been home to various branches of the military -- Top Gun, the U.S. Navy Fighter Weapons School, was located here, and the 1986 Tom Cruise movie of the same name was filmed here -- so it's not unusual that title reports will occasionally show the property as previously being part of a military base or a military presence of some other sort, such as an artillery range or a bombing range.
Kind of reminds be of 1982 movie "Poltergeist."
A recent newspaper article discloses that Frick's Temecula Valley Wine Country property had been used for target practice 60 years ago. The owner, Robert Frick, apparently unearths shell casings, bombs, and rusted metal quite often.
The Army Corps of Engineers calls his property "Temecula Bombing Target No. 107." Within Target No. 107 live 364 people, and within a four-mile radius, 26866 people live. Many residents said that they didn't know the land had been an articller range.
What's the purpose of issuing title reports if one doesn't read them? Is it just another document to issue to create jobs for someone?
Earlier this month a similar but more serious problem occured on the grounds of a middle school in Orlando, Florida. The Army collected and detonated more than 400 pounds of bombs and munitions from the middle school property!
Maybe I'm strange, but I like to read the documents that are provided to me by the various companies working on behalf of my Clients. Not only do I find them interesting, but occasionally something will jump off the page, just begging me to tell my Clients. A bombing range, I'm sure, would jump off the page.

You are responsible for representation and that includes looking things over. You are right, it is an overlooked document but one of great importance. I also have the title company that I like to use flag me if there is anything that needs quick attention so I can make sure that I'm on top of it. Good reminder of our responsibilities!
