I would like to interrupt our regularly scheduled program to bring you something that I know that you need. On a cold cheerless January day, you could use a few transformative rays of sunlight...

Leslie ~ Nice! Thankfully we have sun today, which doesn't seem to be helping with the cold, wind and patches of ice hanging around.  Love the sparkle to that bath faucet picture.

Thanks for your comment, Kathy -- and watch out for that ice! The whole day here has been in greyscale, and while I was uploading new photos of projects I stumbled across some old photos with unexpected slivers of warm sunlight. It seemed appropriate to share, as we wait for the renewal of Spring around the corner!

Thank you so much, Fernando! Yes, we all need a moment to take a deep breath and take notice of small gifts -- something as ordinary as a shaft of light dancing in our view.

I chuckle that you mention the logo today of all days, Fernando -- I've used the logo on ActiveRain in place of my photograph for the past two years, choosing instead to use my photograph in the blogs. Just today I decided to swap them out...and you notice the LOGO!  Thanks for your nice comments!

Allegra -- I thoroughly enjoyed your soap-box blog today, and am in the process of catching up on your most recent postings. Wonderful ideas as always. One of these days we'll have to get together and talk!  I have so many ideas in response to your blog questions that I'll have to carve out some time to reply. Thanks for your sweet comment!

Diana -- I suspected I wasn't the only one out there today in a grey fog! I kept stumbling across those sunny photos as I was organizing new ones. But it was seeing one of my favorite photos of my daughter that cinched the blog idea for me -- she's the sunniest one of all!  Thanks so much for replying, Diana!

Now tell me the truth you guys...aren't you humming the song "Good Day, Sunshine"?  See, your day's better already!

I love the photo of the running faucet!  I don't know why, I just love it!  It made me smile.  That is so strange.  Oh, and of course, the little girl is adorable!

Sharon -- I  know what you mean about the running faucet -- I keep being drawn to that image as well!  And of course you know that you're now my friend for life...that's what you get for complimenting my daughter!  Warms my heart. Thanks so much for writing; it's nice to know that I was able to bring you a smile today.  Just pass it on...

Love your photos Leslie.  I too, am drawn to the faucet photo.  It's a great shot & looks like it belongs in a magazine!

The fact that you included a photo of your daughter is just priceless.  Often times, for myself, that's all I need is an angelic smile from one of my children to brighten my day!

The weather here in Florida has been unusually cold & at times dreary, but I can't complain when I can experience these rays of sunshine.Florida Sunset

Thanks for your comment, Michele!

Suzanne -- WOW -- thanks so much for your beautiful photo! What a great way to start the morning today -- I really appreciate your sharing this with us.

Actually the photo of my daughter was a special surprise. When we were moving last summer I was flipping through old books to consider discarding before we boxed them up to go cross-country. This photo fluttered out of the pages of one of the books -- I was astonished to see that it had been used as a bookmark! Though I hadn't seen it in a long time, it's one of my favorite pictures of my daughter, who's now 14. It was taken at a picnic on her last day of preschool -- kindergarten started the following week. I love how the picture was sent to me...

That's awesome, Vivian -- thanks so much for your beautiful photos! It seems like I can already feel the warm glow of the sun. And sent from someone with such a seasonal name too! (Similarly, my best friend's last name is Winter!). I appreciate your contribution to this January afternoon, Vivian!

Leslie--I like your story about finding the photo of your daughter. It sort of signified a message of new beginnings.

Thanks, Suzanne, I like the way you put that. I'm still amazed how that came about  -- at the time it really took my breath away. But I like your take on it representing new beginnings -- and what a great time for us to focus on that promise!  Leslie

What a wonderful and uplifting post! truly brought a tear to my eye.  I love sunbeams, (like that cartoon baby who always sits in the sunbeam!)  And the little ray of sunshine girl in her cheery cherry top was the best!

After your comment on my blogpost I came back and read your comments to find the "story" of the little girl!  Great story!  I have a couple of photos of my completely grown-up adult sons, that could replace every single photo I have, with the emotion they draw out of me!  Those are the best!

Cheryl -- I know exactly what you mean! With the wealth of photos we take of our kids growing up, there are a handful that truly capture their essence, and continue to warm our hearts. (I'm looking at a framed snapshot from my daughter's 3rd birthday right now, one of those miraculous moments on film...just radiant!) Talk about your sunbeams!  Thanks so much for sharing, Cheryl.
