Just When I'm Trusting in My GPS...

By
Real Estate Agent with St. Charles County, Missouri - Prudential Alliance Realtors

I recently posted about how I navigate to places that I've never been.  I said that I used my "trusty dusty GPS", Mapquest, etc...

Anyway, I stressed the importance of having many different tools at my disposal so that I wouldn't get lost.

Well, my GPS has been doing so well, lately, that I decided to depend upon it today...Oops!  Bad decision!  It took me right past the silly house for about a mile, saying: "Arriving at destination on right".

Not this time...No house, nothing.  All right.  It's time to start listening to my own advice...  Be prepared!   :)

I've had this happen to me a few times.  Sometimes my GPS is great other times I have no idea what it's thinking.

Morning Debi,

As they say..shi_ happens. Hope you were able to backtrack that mile and still be on time for your appointment.

I wonder if it was some kind of conspiracy amongst GPS products...yesterday my GPS wanted me to follow a route way off track from where I was going.  My destination was about 1/4 mile down the road on the left and it wanted me to take the next right and then go several more miles.  Luckily, I knew better.

I think GPS's are great, but you do have to be careful sometimes. My system had me do a left turn one time into the wrong way of a one way street. On the whole though, I can't live without it.

Justin - I really love my GPS.  I just have to be careful about relying on it too much.  :)

Hal - I wasn't late or anything, just a little flustered...  :)

Sharon - LOL!  That's good that you knew better.  It would be nice if they were more accurate, though.  :)

Michael - I can't live without mine, either.  I just have to not trust it quite so much.   :)

I'm so glad to know that its not just my GPS that does that.  I argue with "Samantha" all the time.  Yeah, she has a name.  Samantha was programmed in to the unit. It is her factory given name.  Usually I will call her Samanta. But sometime it's much more colorful....

Thanks for sharing

They are overrated.  That's why I used mine once or twice and then gave it away!

Bob - Samantha?  LOL!  I don't have a name for mine, but my husband always answers, "Yes, maam," when she gives her orders.   :)

Barbara -  I wonder if some brands are more reliable than others?   :)
