Everyday You Must Work On YOUR Survival

Every morning in Africa,

A gazelle wakes up.

It knows it must run faster than

the fastest lion

or it will be killed.

It knows it must out run

the slowest gazelle

or it will starve to death.

When the sun comes up,

YOU BETTER START RUNNING!

Last year, I wrote a post titled Nothing From Nothing Leaves Nothing. The life lesson from that post is that you take out, what you put in.

Too many people are searching for a magic pill. They want to pay $99, $199, $2,999 for a solution that will automatically give them a successful business. Well I hate to be the one to bust your bubble (those selling the seminars will hate me for this), but

There is no magic solution!

You will only succeed by being like the Lion and the Gazelle above. You must plan to survive every single day. When you get up, you must say to yourself, how am I going to improve my business today? Your success in life depends on how much effort you put in. Can you learn from seminars and books? Of course. I have a library full of books. I have attended many training sessions. If I were to boil everything I learned down into one sentence, it would be this (I won't even charge you for this one)

The better your attitude and outlook on life, the more successful you will be.

That's it in the nutshell. You can believe me or you can keep looking for the magic pill. If it makes you feel any better, send me $199 and I will print the above statement on beautiful paper, frame it and mail it to you.

Very true Leander, there is no magic pill. And it's not just the real estate business where people are looking for the easy solution, it's pervades our society. Once we realize that it's up to us, it actually gets better. And, by the way, I just emailed you the $199. Your reminder was certainly worth every dollar : )

Hi Leander,

Love the post! Not sure if you're familiar with Dave Ramsey but he talks about being focused like a gazelle - though in his case it's about saving money (or more specifically getting out of debt) rather than making money. It's a good message to hear. And I laughed out loud when I got to the last paragraph. You're a hoot!

Wow, great post! If everyone thought like the lion and the gazelle then everyone would be more successful. Attitude is everything and we need to work on something everyday to build our own success.

Some of the basic truths are forgotten in a challenging time, aren't they. You are absolutely right, positive attitude is key. "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he" the Proverbs say.

I like your attitude Leander! And I like what Zig Ziglar says, "You can have everything you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want." And it is true! BTW, I like your cloud!

Leander - Sound advice, we have to plan for survival. I think right now the seminar business is booming, but these wont help without a plan of action in place.

Hi Leander. What a great first post to read and start today with. You're right and thanks for the reminder and the visual - I'll be picturing that lion chasing that gazelle all day. Got to remember no matter where we are in life and no matter what the situations, it's all about our attitudes. Thanks for giving us the positive outlook.

Leander- You make a great point. More and more I see people struggling and not knowing really why...but often these are folks who are "waiting" for business to happen. I guess that makes them sitting ducks! I especially liked the $199 offer, I LOL at that one. Have a great day!
