6 Comments on Where's do you get the most "bang for the buck" in online advertising?
Most of my bang has also been from yahoo, but with the latest stats showing 60+% are using Google, I'm going to up my Google marketing and see what happens. I also just signed up with Zillow's new program on Tuesday and my ads have gotten 3177 impressions with 18 click throughs to my website. That's a .0056657% conversion and they told me to expect about .005% so I'm slightly above average. It's only been 3 days, but I'm sure the numbers will drastically pick up once people get their W2s and start seeing what their refunds are.
I would say Active Rain's Localism has been the best for me....I have done well with Craig's List and Trulia in the last year as well.

What works for some may not work for others. That may seem ridiculous... But, actually it makes sense. I for one, prefer to have fewer incoming calls of quality- as opposed to being swamped with all sorts of questions and comments, etc.
Active Rain is by far my site of choice- followed by trulia®, zillow®, RealBird®, Craigslist®, BackPage®... It goes on and on- and those are free of cost!

You know, social media marketing is really the way to go right now. Twitter, Active Rain, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc. are all absolutely free and can result in quality leads. Look into your social media options.

I am actually surprised by yahoo. I thought most traffic will come from google. I always thought Yahoo is half dead or something.
Thanks for the great feedback. I am finding the social media outlets to be valuable (both because they are generally FREE and because it's a great way to network on a larger scale). I believe we are going to cut back on the online campaigns in favor of more legitmate lead generation instead of just clicks.
Thanks again for everyone's valuable feedback!
