Which Digital Converter Box?

By

OK.  So sometimes I get really busy, and I kinda let my own personal stuff slip.   And that's how I managed to misplace my convertor box coupons.  Did you know they can't be replaced?  Oops.

Coupons cannot be reissued. If you have requested one coupon, you may be eligible to receive another. If both coupons have been lost or stolen, or you have requested both coupons, used one, and the other coupon is lost or stolen, by law we are unable to reissue coupon replacements. While it is illegal to sell coupons, giving a coupon for free to a family member, friend, or neighbor is not prohibited under Program regulations.

I do have cable downstairs, but the upstairs TV is on rabbit ears.

Looks like the full price for a converter box (without coupon) is under $100, so losing the coupon won't kill me.

But which one should I buy?  The models indicated "Best for Seniors" sounds good to me.  (Big, easy buttons).

Anyone buy one of these puppies yet?  I suppose you can hook it up before the changeover date (which appears like it might get pushed back to June??)

I hope you get it figured out, would hate to be without 'my shows' (even if I rarely get to sit and watch one)  cw

I misplaced my coupons but my Mom had an extra. Stopping in at Sears today, the manager mentioned coupons AND boxes were already showing up on Ebay. Might find a cheaper box on the 'Net vs. paying full price at a store.

I have no idea the difference. Of course, the manager recommended the $20 box (after coupon) vs the $10 box (after coupon). We bought the higher end box. (Not sure why, really, other than we like this manager and are doing our part to keep the store in business. I can't tell you now the reasons she gave us for why the higher priced box was best!)

Our cable does all the converting we need.  Good thing too, I can barely figure outmy remote.

Cheryl -- If something important is on TV, I'll just need to make a point on being downstairs (where there is cable) as opposed to being upstairs where there is no cable. :-)

I remember back in the 50s when I was a kid,  it was a very big deal to have just one TV in the house.

Funny you mention only one tv... Up until two years ago, we only had one tv and no cable. We had to break down and add a tv after the kids started bringing video games into the picture.
