The Problem With Video: How Do We Edit the Opening & Closing Frames?

Drawbacks of video... Don't click on the bar to the left in the video. Nothing will happen. It's not a video clip; it's just a screenshot of the video as it first appears on my computer screen.

It illustrates a problem that's kept me from joining the Flip Video crowd, though. Namely, how to edit the beginning and the end of the video clip so that it looks professional.

This nice lady begins in mid-sentence just as she blinks. That's not what she wanted us to see, I'm sure. Once the video starts, everything is professional and coordinated until the end of the video clip.

Who has a free software answer to the problem? We need a tutorial.

If I am understanding you correctly, and you are looking for free editing software, look no further than your PC. Windows Movie Maker should be on your PC if you have Windows XP SP2 or newer. If not, you can down load it HERE. You can add text titles, video transitions, and even a few effects.

Mike- If you are using it with the software that comes with it, then you will be very limited as far as editing is concerned and may get caught mid sentence. Using Windows Movie Maker to "capture" the video and performing editing in WMM will alleviate getting caught mid sentence.

Mike- I am no expert on Mac stuff, but there is a guy on YouTube that goes by the name "macmostvideo" who produced the following video you might find helpful:

I found that a YouTube search for "flip camera and mac" generated many how to videos on using The Flip and a Mac. Hope this helps.
