Newcastle NH Homes | Rye NH Homes | North Hampton NH Homes - 2008 Real Estate Market Recap

Rye NH Homes - Rye NH Real Estate - Ann Cummings NH REALTOR

Real estate markets
and the local activity have varied greatly all across the country.  All real estate is local, super local, and no matter how hard the medie tries to portray a national real estate market, there really is no such thing.

The various regions of New Hampshire are all quite varied, and even here in the Seacoast areas of NH and southern Maine, real estate activity varies from town to town.

This real estate market report focuses on the NH Seacoast towns of Rye, North Hampton and Newcastle

Wow Ann I never realized that New Castle was this expensive. I would never have guessed the average sale price being over 1 million.

Hi Ann...I would have to say it is certainly worth the price to live near the coast.  We pay a pretty penny for water oriented properties but the value is there.

Interesting information and well presented.

Ann, not only is there no such thing as a Nation Real Estate Market, there is no State Real Estate, Market, or even City/Town Real Estate Market.  The market seems to almost change from street to street at times.

Ann, love your market reports.  I have been so bad about keeping mine up to date.  Thanks for the inspiration. =)

Hi Bill - we have some very pricey markets here in my area, and Newcastle is one of them.  It's a beautiful quaint town!

Hi Kate - I would definitely agree with you about living along the coast.  All of the towns here along our very short coastline are the areas I cover, and some are more expensive than others.  Thanks for the feedback.

Hi George - you are so right about how the markets vary!  The street-by-street analogy is especially correct here in Portsmouth.  We have some pockets within the town that there are a slew of buyers just waiting for homes to come on the market, and when they do - get in line to see it.

Hi Neal - thanks, and these charts I made all by myself in Excel.  Did you see the post I wrote about learning how to do this?  I had to call my sister again today to get a 're-lesson' because I kept forgetting one step, but viola - here they are!

Hi Maggie - I think market reports are one thing that don't really excite some to write about.  I like to do them because I know consumers love to see how their markets are really doing, and it also keeps me as up-to-date on the local stats as I should be.  Go do a few for your market - you might find them fun and full of some great info, too!  ;-)

Thanks so much for the great comments!

Your statistics show that February and March should be a great time to market a home, hoping to sell at peak times between May and June.  Great information.

Ann, what a pretty house in your post!  Newcastle sure is expensive, but I guess that's the price you pay to live in paradise! It's beautiful where you live.

Hi Jennifer - I love the variety of homes up here, too - so New Englandy!  I love doing those graphs, now that I know how to do them for myself.  Thanks for that feedback.

Hi Kay - great info you picked up on, and that's just the kind of info local experts need to know to convey to their clients.

Hi Linda - that house is just beautiful in person, no matter the season.  It's really pretty with their Christmas lights in the windows and outside.  I wish I had a picture of that for you - beautiful!  This whole area really is beautiful - some day you'll have to come see us in person!  ;-)

Thanks for the comments!

Hi Gena, Richard, and Barbara - thanks for the very nice comments!!

Barbara - your comment made me laugh!  I've played around with various formats for market reports, and still tinker with them somewhat.

Gena - your graphs made me want to go learn how to do just what you were doing!

Richard - it's a little cooler up here than where you are in the warm land of Aloha!
