I was reading some blogs today and notcied an awesome post by Debbie Malone. (http://activerain.com/blogsview/897744/My-Activerain-Blog-is-Sending-Business-to-Local-Business-Owners) She has made a great effort to help her community.

This gave me an idea to do the same for my local community. Logan, Utah is my home and my family's home. The community around here is very special. With a low crime rate and the 8th best real estate market in the U.S.

I have owned and operated a small business called The Island Market for over 12 years with my mother. The Island Market is a small grocery store with fresh meat and vegetables. It's conveniently located in a historic area in Cache Valley called the island. It's been in my family for more than 20 years.  The Island Market is one of the last "Mom and Pop" grocery stores left in our community.

My mother Joanne Hansen runs the normal daily activities with my husband Jerry Udy. They do such a great job with thier customers and are there almost everyday in the mornings.  We have done a lot of remodeling in the last few years to keep The Island up to date.

 

This is my first story in what is going to be a long list of some local busnesses in my community. I hope this will help improve our local economy in 2009. Cache Valley is a wonderful place to live and the businesses here need to be known. I will continue to be looking for more real estate business for 2009 and hope to have a prosperous year.
