Talk about hitting the Google alert fast! This was record speed!

I don't know about you, but this amazed me! I realized Activerain that things up quickly, because of their high rankings with Google, but I didn't realize how quick until today. I did a post earlier today called social marketing, and I have it set up the Google alerts me when my name is mentioned in any form or context. Well according to Google, I submitted this post at 3:40 p.m. or right at two hours ago. I just received a Google alert, letting me know that this post was now available online at 6:07 p.m..

It just goes to prove that if you have an announcement that needs to hit through Google quickly then do your post here on Activerain. Folks should be able to find it rather quickly.

I have seen posts indexed in under 5 minutes. I mean you can literally search the title of the post and find it that fast.

I get the google alerts I dont know exactly what they are for...but they come...does is mean that someone does a search for you.. :)

Konnie, my understanding is that when you get a google alert it is because google is searching and indexing pages and finds the words that you have in your google alert. Now this could be wrong, but I think that is how it works. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Yes. Check it out yourself next time you post something. You can see the time because it will show on the result as to when the result first appeared. I suppose it depends on time of day as to how fast the bots index the post but its usually very fast. I used it to impress a customer showing how fast I could lead people to their area by writing 2 posts and taking the top 2 results for those key words in under 10 minutes. I hope that was impressive anyways!

Shane, it impressed me and I am definitely going to have to give it a try. I have some friends who are needing to sell their home and move onto the property where the Ruth house( a womens rehabilitation ministry) is and I was trying to think how I could help. With this info I think I have an idea. Thanks.

Morning Bonnie, Yes! Google does work fast. I once had a post reach the first page of Google within 37 minutes! So how fast do blogs work? Faster than most headache powders...

BTW, Did you post anything about the cabinet? If you did, I never saw it...

Janice, thank you for stopping by. Peace of mind is what we try to give both to the customer and the realtors that choose to use us. We're going to tell the truth about the house, but we're not gong to scary someone to death just for the fun of it.

Depending on how active you are at ActiveRain, posts can often show up almost instantaneously. The quickest I've found was two minutes. I think the little Google spiders keep track of activity and check those active sites more often.
