Howard County Maryland Real Estate Report for December 2008 Home Sales in Howard Maryland Still Saw the Average Price of Homes Sold Drop of 9.98% Compared to Same Sale Period December 2007, and sales of homes in Howard MD decreased  slightly -12.76% over last year. In December 2008 there were 171 units sold as opposed to 196 last December. Howard Maryland Homessales are driven by the distressed nature of the market.  Bank owned, short sales, pre-foreclosures are bringing prices down dramatically. Howard County has held up better than most.  The average price of Howard Homes sold is still moving lower. There are many other items that also need to be looked at closely. Days on market decreased by a whopping 20.95%. The average list price sales price ratio at 90.76% LP/SP ratio is not a good number.  It reflects that it is still a strong buyers market, and that sellers on the average can expect to give up about 9% off the list price of the home to make a sale.  That is not counting sellers contributions or concessions to the purchaser.
