Paramount's Carowinds is starting up again for the year. They have just announced that they are looking to hire 2,100 seasonal workers to work at the park this spring summer and fall.
Paramount's Carowinds is a theme park on the border between North Carolina and South Carolina. It actually straddles the border, with some of the park inside and some of the park outside. Thanks to Charlotte's interstate highway system, Carowinds is really easy to get to and not far from most of Charlotte. some of the southern parts of Charlotte like Ballantyne are only a few miles from the border between NC and SC.
Carowinds used to be independently operated. Paramount bought the theme park and started to invest heavily in new rides and crazy roller coasters. I don't think that it's as big as six flags, and it certanly isn't disney world. But it's really nice to have such an awesome theme park right in your backyard. There are a lot of places that only see rides like that when the fair comes to town.
Thunder Road and the Hurler are both classic wooden roller coasters that have been at the park for a long time. There are so many new rides and modern coasters going in all the time that I can't keep up with them all.
