Hiking near Charlotte NC

There is a new resource I've found for people who are active and like to stay fit outdors. Localhikes.com is an interactive place where people can talk about trails in the area. Someone typically announces that they've found a trail, then others who also have been on the trail either tell everyone that they liked the trail and what they like about it, or they pan it.

With Charlotte NC Real Estate so close to the mountains, there are tons of opportunities to hop in the car and take a weekend hike. Crowder's mountain is a close one that omces to mind. The mountains in North Carolina can be pretty steep and treacherous, so check out your destination before you go, but there are some other trails that are not that strenuous that let you see all the way back to Charlotte, it seems.

The website isn't limited to mountainous trails. It suggest some locations near the Catabwa River, in areas where it flows freely. It also recommends a trail in Charlotte at McMullen Creek. It is super close to Pineville and within easy reach of Ballantyne and other Charlotte neighborhoods.

If you're into hiking, check out the website, and then check out Charlotte area real estate.

Brian, I think I'd rather be in Charlotte right now ... even if hiking - something I've never done before.  Not looking forward to shovelling another foot of snow tomorrow morning.
You have great information about the area on your blogs.  Thanks ... I hope to get there one day soon.
