There's a wide variety of work this week, both commercial and residential properties. As usual there was zero sun and the light was lifeless and diffuse (thank you again Seattle weather *mutter*). Any blue sky or bright colors you see outside are artificial (check out the comparison a few shots down of the before and after).
I've even thrown in a shot of some multi unit housing in the middle of a remodel (how do you make that look artistic exactly?). I tried to bring out some interesting lines via composition but frankly...well, it's torn up walls and stuff. :) These were before shots...I'll head back a second time to shoot the finished product.
I had an interesting incident when shooting a residential property this week. This was for one of my clients that hires a photographer for every listing, she also frequently hires a stager for homes...even occupied homes (as was the case here). Basically my dream client (*grin*). Anyway, the stager had told the home owner that 'the photographer won't bother to organize anything so we have to get it right prior to their arrival'. As a result the homeowner was confused when I moved a few things here or there as was my preference for the shot.
The funny thing is the stager is probably correct in most instances. Most real estate photographers are folks with basic skills and basic equipment who don't really work to compose shots (in fact this is a complaint I here from realtors who are switching over to me).
Please feel free to critique or ask questions.
