If at first you don't succeed... learning lessons from an 8 month old!

By
Real Estate Agent with John L. Scott, Belfair

Picture of Avery standing upMy daughter is such an inspiration. She is 8 months old. She is crawling like a pro but that isn't good enough for her. She is pulling herself up but that isn't good enough for her. She is bound and determined to walk. She pulls up, lets go, teeters and then falls. She doesn't cry. She doesn't fuss. She just reaches out and pulls herself up again. Every once in a while she lets go and stands up all by herself... but then she gets so excited that she claps her hands and then, you guessed it, falls. So, out come the hands and she grabs on to whatever is nearest and stands up again. She goes on like this all day. Taking short breaks to eat, and when forced, to nap!

I can see the determination on her face. She wants to stand and to walk all by herself. And you know what - she will - and soon, because no one has told her she can't. As a matter of fact, she gets nothing but encouragement from her Mommy (me) and her Daddy and her Grandparents. And anyone else that's around. She thinks she can do anything.

We all could learn a lesson from Avery. And we could all stand to be encouraged. And we can all do whatever we put our mind to!

What do you want to accomplish? What will you do today?

Good post.  Yes we all need to pull our selves up and move on.  Lets start by thinking positive and stop the negative.  What a nice way to remind us all that we need to not give up.  Enjoy that little one because they do not stay little long.  I have a 12 year old that is taller than me - ugh!

It is so awesome to see how they learn and grow.  Ahh a ! Mom and Dad - you are about to enter a whole new stage of parenting here real soon!  THe "can do" attitude is the way of the winner... and with you and Chad and everyone else around she will surely always have that motivation of the "can do"....  And you are so right - we all need to take that same attitude and push forward!  She's so cute Alisha...

Alisha, Your daughter is precious.  I remember those years when the kids stopped being so much work and became such a JOY!  Everything was a learning experience and we got to learn along with them.  Have fun and stay inspired.

Alisha - she has that glow like you do! It certainly takes determination to be successful at whatever you do. And she's got it and as long as you guys keep re-inforcing she will be able to accomplish anything.

This is a wonderful post Alisha. We, like your baby girl, can accomplish anything if we believe we can and then work to do so.
